Former garage transformed into CBRE office

In collaboration with CBRE, a former automobile garage at Anthony Fokkerweg 15 in Amsterdam is being completely transformed into an office. The object is located in the Amsterdam Schinkel area directly adjacent to the A10 ring road, an area that is rapidly gaining in popularity. The entire transformation is expected to be completed in a few months, and CBRE will move into “The CORE” at the beginning of 2019.

‘The working patterns and wishes of office tenants are changing. In The CORE, we are facilitating the design of future work environments,’ explains Rudolf de Boer, Managing Director at CBRE. In The CORE, CBRE will be working closely together with its clients and employees by dividing the space into different zones, including a Client Lab and Creative Camp as well as a Workplace, Focus Zone and Café. As a result, employees will be given ample opportunity to use their entrepreneurial skills to the fullest. In addition, the design of The CORE is in line with the latest insights in the areas of health, technology, and sustainability. ‘By combining such an innovative mix of concepts in a single building, we aim to inspire others to reshape their perspective on real estate and office environments.’

We purchased the object at the end of 2015, and in May 2018 we started on the complete transformation of the building, whereby characteristic elements such as overhead doors and shed roofs are being retained. The total surface of the object is approximately 6900 m² GFA divided over three storeys, 4600 m² of which will be used for office space and 1900 m² for parking space on the ground floor and first floor, which can be accessed via a ramp. The highest possible LEED sustainability certification will be realised.
We were involved in the realisation of this innovative project via a close collaboration with CBRE, and we are very pleased that they will be leasing the location on a long-term basis from Caransa Groep B.V.
