Project ‘de Karel’ in full swing
Several weeks ago, we started on the transformation of the Karel Du Jardinstraat 61-65 complex, and the demolition activities are now in full swing. The interior of the building is being completely stripped, and part of the low-rise section (Karel du Jardinstraat 67) is also being demolished to make room for the construction site. By using a part of the building lot for the construction site, we aim to minimise the nuisance factor for the neighbourhood. If everything goes according to schedule, the demolition activities will be completed in week 21 at the latest.
Construction of the scaffolding at the rear of the building will start in week 20 to facilitate façade renovation. When the scaffolding has been completed, it will encircle the entire building. Renovation of the façade will take almost an entire year, and it will have been completely renovated by the end of the activities. Work on the interior of the building will be carried out simultaneously with the renovation of the façade.
Starting in week 22, construction site fencing will be placed at Karel du Jardinstraat 61-67.
