De Messina rises up!

The final walls of the second floor will be poured next week and the initial floor sections for the third floor have already been laid. According to the schedule, the walls on the third floor will be poured before the official construction industry holiday (end of July). By October, the building shell (concrete work) will be in place and a start will be made on installing the aluminium window frames and the brickwork.

This week, drilling started in preparation for the thermal heat storage system. This method stores heat and cold in the ground in order to heat and cool the apartments using a heat pump. Thanks to this sustainable technology, the complex will be completely gas-free. In addition, some 168 solar panels will soon be installed on the roof and will contribute to the electricity supply for the apartments and communal areas.

The choices of interior finishing for the apartments have now almost all been made – the floors will have herringbone-patterned oak parquet and the sanitary areas will be tiled in light beige. The kitchens in darker walnut, combined with a grey/brown stone counter, create an attractive contrast with the white walls. On delivery, the kitchens will be fully fitted, with fridge freezer, induction hob, dishwasher and combination microwave oven. The bathrooms will feature a bathtub, separate shower and washbasin unit.

Although originally planned for the end of December 2019, delivery has now been postponed until March 2020. As a result, the letting of the apartments has also been delayed and will now start in November 2019.

The details of the rental application procedure for the apartments are not yet known. We expect to be able to update you on this in the newsletter in the third quarter of 2019.
