Renovation of Van Eeghenstraat apartments in full swing!

The renovation of the seven apartments at Van Eeghenstraat 29B and 31 is in full swing. The luxury rental apartments vary in size from 57 to 127 m² and all have their own south-facing outdoor space in the form of a garden, balcony or roof terrace. 
A lot of work has been carried out in recent months and more will be done in the coming period. To give you an idea, a number of activities are listed below. 

The roofs and facades have been re-insulated. The existing balconies at the rearand façade frames have been replaced and the facades provided with new coloured plasterwork. A lot of hard work is also being carried out on the frontage: the masonry is being repointed and the original façade ornaments are being checked and repaired where necessary. Every apartment will be wind- and waterproof by Christmas.

All the interior walls and ceilings have recently been installed, except for in the apartments in the basement. Intensive work is ongoing here to remove part of the old façade, in order to make room for the extension. At the same time, as with the other apartments, work will continue on the finishing. 

The apartments are being finished from top to bottom. On the third floor, the walls have been plastered and the bathrooms are tiled. With a brilliant result. 

The black ceramic wall tiles with white veining, contrasted with a herringbone and stone laying pattern in combination with the large white ceramic floor tiles with grey veining, give the bathroom a luxurious look. The freestanding bath and double washstand with bronze taps complete the bathroom.

The interior was designed by HEYLIGERS architects and can best be described as ‘Amsterdam chic meets Scandinavian minimalism’. A style that’s known for its many details, mouldings and clean lines, for natural materials, minimalism and for restful tranquility. Light tints are used throughout the apartments, combined with dark, steel facings. The apartments have underfloor heating and are equipped with a remote-controlled HUE lighting system.

The apartments will be completed in May 2023. Registration for rental of the apartments starts in February/March 2023, by which time the rents will also be announced.
